Offbook is built on a simple principle: your financial data is yours alone. We never sell, mine, or monetise your data. There are no analytics SDKs, trackers, or hidden sync points—just honest bookkeeping.
What Data We Collect
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
All your accounting data—including invoices, expenses, mileage records, and bank statement imports—is stored locally on your iOS device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to enable iCloud backup.
Optional iCloud Backup
If you enable iCloud backup:
- Your accounting data is encrypted and backed up to your personal iCloud Drive
- We never see or hold the encryption keys
- Only you can access this data through your Apple ID
- You can disable this feature at any time in the app settings
Account Information
When you subscribe to Offbook, we collect:
- Your Apple ID (handled entirely by Apple's in-app purchase system)
- Purchase receipts (for subscription validation only)
Support Communications
If you contact our support team at [email protected], we collect:
- Your email address
- Any information you choose to share to help us assist you
- This information is only used to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with third parties
What We Don't Do
- We don't use analytics or tracking tools
- We don't sell your data to third parties
- We don't use your data for advertising
- We don't mine your data for insights or trends
- We don't require cloud accounts or third-party logins
Data Security
Your data security is paramount:
- All data is stored locally on your device by default
- Face ID and Touch ID protection available
- Optional iCloud backups use Apple's encryption standards
- No data transmission to our servers
Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- Export all your data as CSV or PDF at any time
- Delete all your data from within the app
- Cancel your subscription with no data retention
- Request account deletion by contacting [email protected]

Offbook is designed to comply with:
- New Zealand Privacy Act 2020
- Apple App Store privacy requirements
- Inland Revenue recordkeeping standards
Children's Privacy
Offbook is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of Offbook after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
